Hello, I'm Jackie Tsang! I'm the designer and owner behind Home by Faith.
Illustrator, plant mom, wife, and Christ follower. At the beginning of 2017, I found myself falling in love with a new hobby: house plants. Around the same time, my love for art was also rekindled and I found myself immersed in doing watercolour paintings. That’s when Home by Faith started. I wanted to share my art and my house plant journey with fellow plant people, so I started an Instagram account. Through meeting fellow plant lovers, I was encouraged to do so much more and this led to opportunities like hosting the Markham Plant Swap in my local community. I mainly draw on an iPad, which, by the way, is an amazing tool for artists. I use Procreate and Affinity Designer, but I also use Sketch and Photoshop on my desktop for further image processing.
Why “Home by Faith”? I believe that God is the creator of this world and he’s my heavenly father. I may not fully know what his plans are for my life, but by faith, I continue to follow in all that he’s called me to do. And so, I chose the name “Home by Faith”. Home is the place where I can be myself (and where my plants are…), but my home can only truly be a home when I have complete faith in God.
